Online Application for the Junior Doctors of Tomorrow Summer Program

The Junior Doctors of Tomorrow (JDOT) Program is a week-long summer enrichment program designed to provide high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds with an opportunity to explore a career in healthcare.

Through a variety of hands-on clinical workshops, interactive learning sessions, and exposure to diverse medical professionals – JDOT aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attributes needed to succeed on the path to medicine.

Dates: June 24th – 28th, 2024
Location: FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine
(The program will take place on campus Monday-Friday from 9AM-3PM)
Cost: Free (participants arrange own transportation)

Registration Deadline: May 31st 2024


Program Eligibility:

High-school students (rising juniors and seniors only) from Miami-Dade or Broward public schools.

Minimum 3.0+ GPA.


Required documents for the application include:

500-word essay (prompt provided in application)

Letter of recommendation from a teacher (preferably math or science) or guidance counselor who can verify the student is in good academic standing with no history of disciplinary issues

High school transcript with most current grades and GPA


Please note that there is a limited number of seats. Program limit is 30 students per session. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
